I see Ratdog as often as possible. They put on a great show and the music has been consistantly high quality for the past few years. I've been listening to more and more Phil as of late, but if forced to choose my vote goes to Ratdog.

That song is called "Money for Gasoline". Give it a chance and it will grow on you. Trust me.

I see both Ratdog and Phil whenever I get a chance, too. If both were playing in my area on the same night I'd go see Ratdog. I've never been to a Ratdog show that I hated but Phil did bore me almost to death once. In Phil's defense, the last time I saw him (Nokia Theater NYC) he blew my mind. Amazing show.

I love them both Mr. Green

In my opinion, Phil's band jams a lot more than Ratdog, so they take more chances. Like Amy said if their jams are on the money they can really take you places but if they just don't have it on a particular night can be drawn out and going nowhere.

I'm a Lesh lush, hardcore.
The last Ratdog show I caught was last spring, the last show of the tour and it was so tired!
Phil, on the other hand, ROCKED for HOURS at Charlottesville in October.
I was ready to follow him around!
I dunno, after I read Phil's book I just got him on a whole new level.
I'd much rather see him again than Bobby...but that's just me.
Plus I love Jackie Greene and the whole line-up.

I tried to vote.........I just couldn't.

I am just glad they don't play the same night in the same city too often.

I would go see DSO over the two choices here.

Just my opinion.

DSO just brings it every night
